Daily Wrap

I ate like crap today, was very on edge, my legs (quads mostly) were sore from yesterday’s Dr visit, my left arm is sore from the tetanus shot, and I feel a little crappy like I sometimes do after a flu shot.

But I’m not mad, day 2 chew free…

Foodly wrapity wrap for the day

Food was pretty solid today. Another rush around day so it was leftovers tonight (Ground turkey burritos).

1178 calories for the day.

As predicted I am really sore from the short run yesterday, mostly the outside of my right quad, and a stiff knee. But at least now I know what’s going on and a plan is being put in place.

PS I’m pretending nicotine lozenges have 0 calories, and I’m not going to bother looking it up. 1/2 a day in the books.

Dr Visit

Went to the doctor today, and his conclusion was severe IT band issue. His specialty is actually sports medicine, so that’s kind of a good match in a primary care physician for now. I’m going back next week with my foam roller for physical therapy and to develop a good stretching routine.

Also got a couple of shots (tetanus and flu), good first meeting. Tridad will like that he’s a Wisconsin grad, and I was wearing an Oregon hat so we chatted a bit about the Rose Bowl.

Also he convinced me to quit chewing, so we’ll give that a shot…. Last time I attempted I packed on some lbs, but I’m going to make every effort to not do that again.

Oregon? Ouch. Rub it in why don’t you.

Sorry Badger fans.  I know it was painful to see Auburn stuff for a few months after the National Title Game last year.

Daily Wrap

Pretty good day today.  My knee hasn’t been hurting as much, mostly just stiff in the mornings, so I thought I’d try it out before the doctor’s visit tomorrow.  It was ok, got a little sore, but really just stiffened up more.  We’ll see how it responds over night, and then I can tell the doctor better whats going on tomorrow.  The big difference is the endurance I lost over the last month, and the cold I’m fighting.

I ran 1 mile, in a little over 10 minutes, than ran/walked an additional 1.69 miles, backing off whenever the knee tightened up, or when I needed to hack up a lung.  Still was good to get back out there, even if it was a fairly pathetic run! :)

Food was lite today, 1110 consumed, 342 burned.  Better than being over like I have been for the last month though!  I’ll check in tomorrow after the doctor visit to see what he has to say.

First “run” of the year in the books.

Daily Wrap

Stepped on the scale today to get my anniversary weigh in, and first weight of 2012. 193.0 today. One year ago I was down about my weight, totally inactive, and not doing anything about it. I was 234.8. I have a ways to go, but it’s still much better than a year ago, I need to keep that in mind when feeling down.

Food was good today. Brought a turkey sandwich and yogurt for lunch, then made Turkey burritos for dinner.

Pretty go go go today. Work, come home battle with Nathan to get him to clean his room after it got destroyed yesterday when we had people over, cook dinner, eat dinner as soon as Tiffany got in the door, then to swim lessons. Before I could take a moment to write this it was bed time! I’d like to get a look back over the last year sort of post up this weekend.

Thursday doctor visit, then the fitness plan will start to take shape.

Happy Birthday to @droppingthelbs

westcoastrunner:

Hope you are having a fantastic birthday Josh!!

Sorry I missed this earlier!  Thank you so much!

So long vacation

My time off from work is over tomorrow. With the return to work, and the holiday season in the rear view, I also return to daily blogging, and strict dieting.

After my doctors visit later this week to check out the knee, I’ll get a exercise plan in place (hopefully running will be allowed, but we’ll figure out something.

Tomorrow also marks the one year anniversary of this blog. I started at 234, I’m currently in the 190s, and my goal for this year is to end below 170.

Hope you’ve all been well, look forward to getting caught up on your recent adventures.

Merry Christmas everyone

Haven’t posted lately but thought I’d pop on to say Hi and Merry Christmas. Hope you are able to enjoy time with friends and family.
