Haven’t checked in for a while, but I’m still around. Knee is still bugging me, and my food is more mediocre than great, but at least the scale is staying the same. I found a new primary care physician today, and booked an appointment for January 5th to get my knee looked at. Kind of in a holding pattern till then.
Not much going on today. First day back in the office, so just a little catch up, but not too bad. Even though I haven’t run in a while my knee has been bugging me, last night I woke up in the middle of the night in a lot of pain, it felt like I had just run 5 miles on it at the height of what I thought was IT band stuff. Today it hurt a couple of times getting in or out of a chair, and hurt going up and down stairs. I’m not sure what’s going on, but its not normal. I was going to get back to running today, but with the aches flaring up before I even started it wasn’t going to happen. Maybe I need to see a doctor (for the first time in years).
Food was good, 1151 consumed, none burned, 79 below goal. We had some delicious chicken fajitas for dinner tonight.
Back home from San Diego. I managed to catch a cold while I was down there, so I pretty much just worked and hung around the hotel. I did go out to dinner one night, but other than that it was just me and The Sopranos on my tablet I picked up on Black Friday.
I figured the lack of physical activity and constantly eating out would lead to some weight gain. Last week I was 188.4, and this week 187.8. A pleasant surprise.
Hope everyone else has been well, unfortunately I wasn’t really able to keep up with the rest of tumblrland while I was gone. Tomorrow will return to a normal posting schedule, calorie counting, exercise log, all that fun stuff.
Home for a day, then back on the road for work. Knee felt stiff and sore again following my last run and after the drive down to California, so I took a week off from running. Thanksgiving was good, a week of vacation was good, did gain since my weigh in two weeks ago 186.2 then, 188.4 now. Just a quick post as I’m fighting with the computer trying desperately to get it squared away for the family before I go out of town.
I already wrote one daily wrap. I made excuses and said I didn’t want to run, and had decided not to. Then I sucked it up and ran. It did suck, pretty wet, windy, and chilly. I was tired, sluggish, and not feeling it. But now that its done I’m glad I went.

4.86 miles 1:00:44, a little extra walking time at the end because it was pouring and I didn’t want to pull out the iphone and get it soaked to stop the Nike+ timer.
Updated calorie totals: 1460 consumed,635 burned, net 826, 404 below goal. Now I sleep to do it all over again tomorrow, but tomorrow is a rest day :)
Should have ran today, just no time. I’ve seen the post from Ben, today about always having time, it’s just not always realistic. Work, kid, feed him, swim class, dinner for us, 9:30 wet rainy tired drained, sorry just not happening tonight.
