From what I understand the IT band hooks into the knee and when it gets tight it pulls on the kneecap. I’d ice, continue to foam roll, and maybe rest for a couple of days. Hopefully it gets better soon.
Thanks, looking for all the tips I can get. Would ideally like to run my 9 miles on Sunday and stay on track for the half marathon In 2 weeks. With how my knee feels this morning though, I’m not sure that is realistic.

Where do you plan on going? Fit Right, Portland Running Store, and Foot Traffic are good, but I found the most help from Road Runner. They have that computer thing and it was pretty nifty. And its free. Its right off I-5.
I was planning on Fit Right, but I’m not sold on anything. I’ll check out Road Runner didn’t know they had gait analysis too.

They have a mat you stand on & it tells them if your foot is wide, narrow and where your pressure points are. Then they have you run on a treadmill, but they slow the tape down so they can see how you land. Its pretty cool and free.
